Medics Make Early Lead

Carl Pratt rounds up the week's ISSL action.

In a season incomparable to last in terms of the weather the football calendar has been unusually busy. Last seasons league champions the Medics are predictably in first place. This is not too say that in the lower leagues the story is the same. For me the third division is the most interesting this is the league where all new teams must start. With Practice the new teams will begin to find a rhythm and cohesion. One such is example is

Chemsoc Football team. After an initial thrilling win in the Roy Little Cup

1st round (2-2 FT, 5-4 P) a forced replay due to a poor refereeing decision led to the young pretenders being crushed in a demoralising 4-1 defeat against eight men. However a run of four subsequent losses have been put to bed by a team that have recorded their first win a confidant and controlled 2-1 victory over Chemical Engineers. New teams such as this becoming more team orientated, fitter confident and more skilful will undoubtedly send warning signals to the top of the table.
